Our Liberation is Linked: Honoring Pride with Purpose
June marks Pride Month, and at SisterReach, we celebrate this month not as a moment, but as an ongoing continuation of honoring our queer community members, clients, staff, and supporters.
Achieving liberation means leaving no one behind.
Too often, the voices of Black queer, trans, and gender-expansive people are sidelined in reproductive and sexual justice spaces. But the truth is this: the roots of our liberation are intertwined with our collective and collaborative courage, care, and revolutionary contributions. Queer progress is foundational to the reproductive justice framework. Without bold and queer leadership, the reproductive justice movement would not be what it is today. And therefore, our movement’s future depends on all of our safety and liberation.
Pride is more than parades.
It’s access. It’s families. It’s freedom.
It’s saying: “You deserve to live, to love, be loved, and to thrive—fully, openly, unapologetically.”
This month, we honor the lives of LGBTQIA+ and gender expansive people who have fought—and continue to fight—for visibility, access, safety, and joy. We recommit to creating space at every table for every individual to lead, speak, heal, and shine.
If your identity has ever been questioned, erased, or criminalized, please know:
We see you.
We believe in you.
We LOVE you.
We are fighting with and for you.
And at SisterReach, we will always hold space for you.
We are not free, until ALL of us are free.
In love and solidarity,
Founder & CEO, SisterReach
